1Úton International Pilgrim Day - For the physical and mental health of the world

The 1Úton International Pilgrimage Day will be held again this year.

The present pilgrimage, as many times before in the previous years, is not just about getting to know the region's built and natural treasures in an environmentally conscious way, with the smallest ecological footprint, and at the same time enjoying the hospitality of communities, discovering new landscapes and feeling good from physical fatigue. Each occasion wishes to serve an offering, a higher goal. Thus, on this year's 1Úton International Pilgrimage Day, participants can make a pilgrimage “for the physical and mental health of the world”, as the central spiritual programme.

The existing 1Úton sections have been expanded for this occasion with two new designated sections on which pilgrimages will take place on the Palást – Ipolyság and Ipolyvisk – Felsőszemeréd – Egeg - Palást route in Slovakia and on the Esztergom – Basaharc – Szob – Márianosztra and Dorog – Tokod – Péliföldszentkereszt route in Hungary. The event will take place on 15 August 2020, with the participation of the municipality of Palást and Mária Út Public Benefit Association.

The event, which will take place on the new sections, will be implemented through cross-border cooperation within the framework of the Interreg Slovakia - Hungary project SKHU / WETA / 1901 / 1.1 / 029. We look forward to seeing those interested and those who want to make a pilgrimage!
