1Úton International Pilgrim Day - Section Information
The 1Úton International Pilgrimage Day, which will also be held in 2020, will be offered this year “for the physical and mental health of the world”.
Within the framework of the HUSK / WETA / 1901 / 1.1. / 029 project, 2 new sections in Slovakia and 2 new sections in Hungary were established, on which the one-day pilgrimage will be organized.
The existing 1Úton sections have been expanded for this occasion with two new designated sections on which pilgrimages will take place on the Palást – Ipolyság and Ipolyvisk – Felsőszemeréd – Egeg - Palást route in Slovakia and on the Esztergom – Basaharc – Szob – Márianosztra and Dorog – Tokod – Péliföldszentkereszt route in Hungary. The event will take place on 15 August 2020, with the participation of the municipality of Palást and Mária Út Public Benefit Association.
Those arriving on the Esztergom - Basaharc - Szob - Márianosztra section in Hungary can gather at the entrance of the Cathedral of the Assumption and St. Adalbert from 8:30, the pilgrims will leave at 9 o'clock after the blessing. Arrival in Márianosztra at 17:00 to the Basilica of the Assumption of the Hungarians, then agape, followed by the closing Mass from 6 pm by Father András Vízi.
The other section is the Dorog – Tokod – Péliföldszentkereszt one. Those interested are welcome at the Church of St. Joseph in Dorog from 9:10 a.m., the departure will take place at 9:30 after the blessing. The planned arrival at Péliföldszentkereszt church is at 16:30, agape from 17:00, the Mass will be presented by Béla Ábrahám SDB, provincial governor of Szent István Hungarian Salesian Province.
Those arriving on the Palást - Ipolyság section of Slovakia can gather at the Palást church from 7:45, and after the blessing, the pilgrims will set off at 8 o'clock. Arrival in Ipolyság at 14:00 to the local church and the closing mass at 15:00 will be followed by agape.
The other section is the Ipolyvisk – Felsőszemeréd – Egeg – Palást one. Those interested are welcome at the Ipolyvisk church at 7:45, the departure will take place at 8:00. The planned arrival at Palást Church is at 14:00, the litany at 15:00 is followed by agape.
The events, which will take place on both new sections in Slovakia and Hungary, will be implemented through cross-border cooperation within the framework of the Interreg Slovakia - Hungary project SKHU / WETA / 1901 / 1.1 / 029.
